Brazilians love sports, the internet and offline gambling, yet the nation's online sports gaming is still only in its infancy.  This situation is set to change and the outlook for timely operators within Brazil’s growing market is looking positive.

Heard a classic over the weekend from a renowned pundit, commenting on a player who had returned home a few days before from far afield, he said - " But I'm not sure what state of mind his body will be in"!  Daft-isms like this, however funny they are at the time, don't in anyway compensate for all the endless drivel we hear from commentators and pundits alike nowadays. Especially it seems with football and racing for some reason - maybe there's more nonsense to be talked about within these sports and more willing journos/ex-pros/pundits etc to voice their opinions.  No, it's probably just that I watch these two sports the most actually.  Is it just me or do these people take themselves too seriously?  When I say seriously I mean they seem to think that they are the reason you are tuning in, not the races at Goodwood or the football at Anfield or whatever.

After watching the Uefa cup ties last night it appears that this competition in particular, and the early rounds of the Champions League, are becoming very volatile - it's like anything really is possible!  Which makes for quite entertaining viewing.  It appears the Romanian and Bulgarian teams are offering better resistance and even real minnows like teams from Cyprus are proving to be slippery wickets.  However, one thing I can say with some authority having lived there for a few years now, is that a team from the Maltese league is some serious way off this standard.  It's true the Maltese do have a couple of decent players such as Michael Mifsud (nicknamed the Maltese Mosquito by the UK press) who plays for Coventry and recently scored twice at Old Trafford and hit the bar in a Carling Cup tie.  No their real problem,

I'm still reeling in disbelief that somehow Zenit St Petersburg failed to beat Real Madrid last night. It somehow just seems wrong that a team can play such attractive attacking football and the "game" still allows them to lose ! Isn't that the real frustration with Football though , that so often the "best" team on the day in terms of style , chances and possession fails to win. Almost unique really when you think about it in terms of team sports - in Rugby League for example
